Position Title:             Foreign Language Department Head

Position Duties & Requirements:

Responsible for continuous improvement of school's foreign language department course alignment, assessments and instructional curriculum and strategies, working cooperatively with foreign language teachers. Establish and achieve department goals. Recommend to principal the assignment of foreign language teachers. Be a member of school's interviewing committee and recommend candidates for foreign language teaching positions. Participate in evaluation of foreign language teachers and assist with training as required for foreign language teachers. Responsible for checking with substitute foreign language teachers, answering their questions and providing their feedback to principal. Teach Turkish language and literature to elementary, middle and/or high school students, preparing lessons, homework and tests and tutoring students. Meet with students and parents.  Full-time position. Master's degree in Turkish Language Teaching/related field and 6 months experience as a middle and/or secondary school Turkish Language and Literature teacher is required. Interpersonal skills that support classroom management and effective teaching are required. References are also required.
