Pinnacle Academy

01Multicultural Community: With its administrators, staff, and student body, Pinnacle Academy is a multicultural community where differences are cherished and the values that are promoted are those of global citizenship and tolerance. Regardless of their ethnic, religious, social or economic status, all students as well as their parents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity without any discrimination, promoting the feeling that Pinnacle Academy is a home for all.

02Math & Science Concentration: Pinnacle Academy’s main focus is math and science education; therefore, Pinnacle Academy has more hours than the regular public school system in order to help our students work beyond the K-12 math and science curriculum. In addition to using the Virginia Standards of Learning (VA-SOL) as a foundation, Pinnacle Academy enriches its curriculum by integrating European educational standards into its instructional model.

03Use of Latest Technology: Pinnacle Academy utilizes the latest technical equipment and applications throughout the entire school. Pinnacle Academy’s science and computer labs are furnished with the most advanced application and IT infrastructures. Classrooms are furnished with Smartboards, LCD video projection devices, and broadband internet access.

04Foreign Languages:  Our world is becoming smaller in the 21st century, and international communication is increasingly vital. Our children should be aware of what is going on outside the US and be able to keep up with any and all changes and developments. In order to meet this need, Pinnacle Academy’s foreign language curriculum offers a choice of foreign languages, with the opportunity to add an additional language as an extracurricular activity. 

05Affordable Private Elementary and Middle School: The average annual tuition fees of private schools in the NOVA area is around 12.5 K. Pinnacle Academy is here to provide a comparable education to our community for almost half of the above tuition, especially for families who cannot afford to send their kids to other private schools.  

06School Uniform: Pinnacle Academy has a dress code policy in order to create a safe and orderly environment, instill discipline, and eliminate any unnecessary competition or distractions caused by varied fashion styles. All Pinnacle Academy students are required to wear their school uniform every day, beginning the first day of school.

07Small Class & School Environment: Class sizes are small enough to allow teachers to provide effective differentiated instruction and personalize their academic support of each student to foster academic growth. Advising enables students to develop better relationships with teachers.

08Math & Science Olympiads: Academically excelling students are invited to join Olympiad preparation groups to work on challenging concepts with the goal of joining competitions and olympiads. The two major extracurricular activities requiring school-wide  attention are the Math and Science Olympiad team projects.  With their project coach, students work on their respective  projects during after-school and Saturday programs. The competitions capture the interest of students and motivate them to excel. Students perform better when they perceive  themselves to be capable of succeeding; conversely, they fail even subjects in which they are proficient when they have negative self- perceptions. Success in these competitions translates into higher  self-esteem among students.

09Individual Academic Counseling: One-on-one tutoring, intensive counseling, and individualized goals are keys to motivating students. Providing one-on-one consulting throughout the semester allows students to realize their potential for higher education. Pinnacle Academy evaluates students with respect to their academic interest and performance and provides them with a variety of choices for their future education. Cooperation with local universities and colleges is a practical means toward enhancing the effectiveness of our tutoring system.

10Integrated Character Education: The main focus of the school is to produce top-notch graduates who are fully equipped with the intellectual and social skills and values needed to be “Global Citizens” and to serve as leaders in tomorrow’s world. The curriculum addresses such social issues as drugs, violence, and health risks, divided into age-appropriate modules which are filtered through the prism of community impact. Pinnacle Academy’s curriculum promotes a willingness to make personal sacrifices for the sake of the common good as well as for personal fulfillment; we instill a deep respect for family, school, and community; and help develop in students the capacity to maximize the opportunities that life affords.

11Parental Involvement: PTO: Pinnacle Academy has an active and effective Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Our education program is most appropriate for parental involvement, which attracts much interest from concerned parents. The PTO is given incentives to motivate parents to contribute to educational activities. According to our “understanding of accountability,” the most important function of the PTO is to encourage families to participate in their children’s education through access to their children’s records, grades, and curricular materials.

12After-school Tutoring Programs: Students are provided both academic and non-academic support in the form of after-school-tutoring programs, student club activities, project-based curricular activities, subject-matter remedial courses, and a host of extracurricular activities. The common goal of extracurricular activities are: providing enriching experiences that enhance children’s overall perspectives; improving their skills in becoming more conscious social beings; and improving the academic achievement of students not meeting the expectations of the Pinnacle Academy performance standards.

13Safe and Drug-free Environment: Pinnacle Academy administrators, staff and instructors work closely with parents and local ordinances to prevent any type of campus violence, drug use, and other behaviors which are not conducive to education. Campus safety is our top priority during the hours of operation with a “zero tolerance for violence” policy.

14Before & After-school Care for Working Parents: Pinnacle Academy administrators are aware of the difficulties of working families. Therefore, we provide before- and after-school child care services to provide our families with convenience in dropping off and picking up their children.
