Pinnacle Academy places Social Development under three categories: One-on-one academic counseling
It is important for a teacher to spend time together with students individually, outside of class hours. That gives a teacher a chance to get to know the students better and prepare more realistic individual plans for each student. Talent shows
It is crucial to provide an opportunity for every single student in the school to perform in front of people to improve their self confidence and self esteem. Keeping that in mind, twice a year Pinnacle Academy organizes talent shows for each class which each student takes part in. Besides giving them a chance to improve themselves, it is also a wonderful occasion for the parents to have fun and to get to know other parents. Home visits
Unless a teacher knows what family dynamics or what cultural backgrounds students come to class with, it is impossible to make the right decision about their performance and behaviors. At Pinnacle Academy, homeroom teachers visit students at their houses and meet the parents. This helps the teacher understand the family and their culture and also it gives a chance to the teacher to explain his or her teaching approach to parents in detail and to find out their expectations about their children.
