Kindergarten with Mrs. Farmer
Mrs. Farmer went to college at Radford University and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Elementary Education and Special Education. She has been teaching since June of 2016 in Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms. The 2020-2021 school year will be Mrs. Farmer’s third year with Pinnacle Academy. She loves teaching and allowing children the ability to learn and experience new things. Outside of school, Mrs. Farmer is married to her high school sweetheart and just had her first child, Thea, in October of 2019. She has a black labrador dog named Cali and loves to go hiking on the weekends and spending time with her family back home.
Mrs. Jaeger has 16 years of experience working with children between the ages of 2-12. Eight of those years, she taught full time in preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade classes. She graduated from Howard University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. She received a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2010.
During her free time, she loves making DIY projects, shopping, trying new things, and spending time with family and friends. She was married in 2017.
Some moments that she looks forward to sharing with her students are singing, dancing, playing games, going on field trips, dressing up for spirit week, and most importantly, watching them learn and grow throughout the year!
The 2020-2021 school year will be Mrs. Jaeger’s fourth year with Pinnacle Academy.

4th/5th Grade Reading & Social Studies
Mrs. Yager grew up in New York City, and graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in Education and History. She taught History in New York, Virginia, and California. In California, she also had experience teaching STEM in K-8 and 4th grade. STEM has always been a passion of hers, and incorporating it into her classroom creates real life connections for students. In the past she has taught: the Launch Program, a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program for elementary students; Energy and the Environment; Robotics; and Design and Modeling. All of these classes use the design process and make learning fun and engaging.
She loves using technology and hands-on experiences to motivate her students. Her broadcast program engages students through technology and allows them to highlight achievements of other students at our school.
4th/5th Grade Math & Science
5th Grade with Mrs. Arif
I am thrilled to serve Pinnacle Academy as a Science and Math Instructor for our 4th and 5th Graders, along with being a Personal Finance Instructor for our High School Class this year.
I began my teaching career with Manassas City Public School where I taught for 14 years. I served for 4 years, as the Instructor and STEM Coordinator for the King Abdullah Academy as well. I have now been an educator for almost twenty years! Where did the time fly 🙂
My educational background: I received my Masters of Science degree in Education from Walden University and my Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from State University of New York’s Empire State College. I hold a Virginia Department of Education endorsement for Computer Science as well.
My family: My family and I currently reside about 5 miles away from school. My husband and I are parents of two wonderful children who are now young adults. My son is a Doctor of Chiropractic and my daughter is getting ready for her career as a Dentist.
My passion: Science, which I see as a wonder world of art and change around us- and I enjoy generating students’ curiosity and fostering creativity in my students to help them reach their full potential.
My Hobbies: All sorts of art, henna designing- cake decorating, writing poetry, travelling and baking desserts
Famous Quote: A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new- Albert Einstein
My advice to my students is that they should explore and inquire, find solutions to problems and think of new ideas. Keep your goals in mind when you aim to reach them.
