Private Elementary Schools

Elementary or Primary Education is an integral part of a child’s learning because it serves as their foundation towards a more complex structure in the secondary and college level.

Majority of Elementary Schools offer grade levels from kindergarten up to the fifth or sixth-grade level. Likewise, basic subjects are taught at this educational level such as Mathematics, Science, Language, Grammar, Social Studies, Music, Arts, and Sports. Definitely, it prepares your kids for the higher educational level later on.

Private Elementary Schools in the United States

Based on the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), there are about 132,853 K-12 academic institutions in the United States for 2015 to 2016.

Out of these numbers, 66.7 percent are elementary schools where 34,576 of it are private schools. These academic institutions can be further subdivided into different groups: Catholic, Nonsectarian, Conservative Christian, Un-affiliated Religious, and other affiliated religious schools.

Enrollment in Private Elementary Schools

From the year 1999 to 2016, the number of students enrolling in private elementary schools is fluctuating due to several reasons but mostly due to financial reasons.

The general trend for the enrolment in private elementary schools for the period 1999 to 2016 is around 11.7 to 9.6 percent.

So far, the highest enrolment recorded was from 2001 to 2002, where it hit 11.7 percent of the general student population. Whereas, the lowest was from 2011 to 2012, only 9.6 percent of the general student population.

Pinnacle Academy Elementary School

Pinnacle Academy is one of the private academic institutions in the United States which offers quality, safe, and dynamic learning environment for fostering elementary education.

The school, its teachers, and non-teaching staff are efficiently and effectively promoting quality curriculum which is further reinforced by its mission and vision principles.

Furthermore, Pinnacle Academy believed that a good school must possess valuable characteristics and values to ensure the child’s holistic growth. Below are some of the important qualities upheld by the school:

  • Goal and Direction: A school must have a clear, holistic, and objective-driven goals. This is vital in knowing where the school is headed in the future and in molding its students.
  • Friendly and Motivating Environment: A school must provide a friendly and motivating environment that will foster learning, discipline, and good attitude among its learners.
  • Competent Teachers and Staff: Aside from good facilities, a school must have a competent human resource that will guide and nourish the learners’ cognitive and affective domains.
  • Good Facilities: A school having a good and complete facility will have a better means of delivering its lessons to its learners. Likewise, this will help teachers provide quality education for various learners.

Cooperation: In order to ensure success in delivering quality education, the school and its members must work hand-in-hand to accomplish things in a more effective and efficient way.

Grade Levels and Competent Teachers

In its Elementary curriculum, it offers grade levels from Kindergarten up to the Fifth Grade Level.

Each grade level’s education is managed and taught by competent teachers with excellent academic qualifications and experience garnered from various known Universities.

Kindergarten

Mrs Grijalva is the teacher assigned for the Kindergarten. Her credentials and years of experience in teaching kids have been a tremendous edge for the school. She applies various dynamic and fun teaching strategies to cater to the multiple intelligences of her students.

First Grade

Mrs Jaeger is the teacher assigned for the First Grade. The skills and learnings she got from her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Master of Arts in Teaching have been a great tool in promoting holistic learning and personality development among her students.

Likewise, her 15 years of expertise in handling and teaching kids ages 2 to 12 have been a great help in nourishing the cognitive and behavioral development of students.

Second Grade

For the second grade, we have the passionate Mrs Richardson. She realized the vocation for teaching when she was still in the second grade. Her learnings from being a graduate of Psychology and Elementary Education give her many edges in understanding the needs of students.

Moreover, in order to enhance her skills in crafting effective learning strategies, she is having her Masters in Elementary Education and Reading Interventionist at Ball State University.

Third Grade

Mrs Lux is handling the third grade for Pinnacle Academy. Her experiences from being a traveler provide her with the edge of putting real-life scenarios in a classroom setting. She has lived in Washington, D.C. for a long time and grew up there.

Her learnings and skills in Psychology, Language and Literature will be most suitable in enriching the learnings and behavior of her students. Students from her class have greatly developed their skills in both oral and written communication. To further enhance her competencies as a teacher, she pursued certification for Early Childhood Education.

Fourth Grade

Mrs Yager is the one handling the fourth graders. She has so much passion for History, Education, and STEM. She believes that the best way of making students learn effectively is to put those learnings in a context where the learners’ can relate on easily.

She is a History and Education graduate from Stony Brook University. Definitely, seeing kids learn and having fun in school is her happiness.

Fifth Grade

In the fifth grade level, Mrs Labriola is the one taking care of the students’ learning. She has a keen eye for details but with a very accommodating aura to motivate students to strive for excellence.

She believes that education is an important tool to combat poverty and ignorance. Likewise, she wants to mold students not just in terms of intelligence but also in its affective domain.
